1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 Ford Explorer Keyless Remote Programming Instructions

Remember: The programming connector is located in the trunk on the driver’s side behind the trim panel. It is taped to a wiring harness going to the rear tail light. It’s a white or light gray plastic connector with two terminals that are not plugged into anything.

1. Put the ignition to RUN or ACC then jump the two program connector terminals with a jumper wire. The system will cycle the door locks.
2. Press any button on the remote. All doors will lock and unlock or the horn will chirp to verify programming of that remote.
3. Press any button on each additional remotes and allowing a pause for the door locks to cycle after each remote. The system will accept up to 4 remotes to be programmed.
4. Turn the ignition to OFF. Door locks will cycle or the horn will chirp.
